This is a first timer posting so be gentle.

My son (14) and I are rebuilding an 85 XJ. We recently put a 4.5" lift on the thing with tires and wheels coming in the spring. My question is about the methodology that is used to align the front end. As this thing sits on the ground it looks like somebody's grampa with bad knees. Understand -- we are going to send it to the front end shop when the new wheels and tires go on, but looking at the front end components, I am curious how the professionals maneuver parts to straighten up the tires.

Any brief explanation would be appreciated.

I found this info good . . . and it was dead on for my '87 - even though I took it for a professional alignment, it was nice to confirm what they told me.

In fact, Go-Jeep has a lot of good information (I hate the cursor, but the info is good :rof: ):
