exhaust question?

Just a quick question about my exhaust b4 i start tearing things apart to fix an exhaust leak. I need to know if there is suppose to be a donut gasket between the manifold and the exhaust pipe flange?

Thanx I thought it did but a SOCALLED Jeep xpert said that it was just metal on metal. Well thats one person I dont have to worry about listening to any more, only about 500 left :yap:
