I know the question has been asked before on the board but i could never find the awnser. What is the biggest size tire that will fit on a stock xj. I am looking at purchacing some 31's but want to make sure they will fit until i get me lift put on. Thanks

235/75R15s are typically the largest with little to no rubbing. 30x9.50 seem to fit for some folk though. 31s might be pushing it...

they are uesd and have about 40% tread left so it wouldnt be as big as a 31 right?

They will rub. 235's do not on stock XJ's. 30's may be ok.

How about 265/70/15's on a stock XJ. The section width is 10.6". Tread width is 7.8". Diameter is 29.6". These are specs on Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo. Will these rub??

You should be ok. They aren't that different than 235/75/15's. Diameter is 29" with a section width of 9.1 on 6.5.
