Guys, I'm brand new here and haven't been privy to some of the historical information, but I'm looking for an answer on this one. Got my first XJ (95 4.0L) and it appears I have a plastic valve cover. I'd like to replace it with some type of metal one, but haven't seen any specific for late model 4.0L motors, mostly 258, 232 etc. Anyone has any leads on a good replacement?
Thanks,
Tellicorick

All the 4.0's have an aluminium valve cover and yours should be aluminium too, not plastic. Remove the oil filler cap and take a look.

Muchos gracious for the info; I'll check to see and if I'm lucky I'll just replace the gasket and not worry any more.
