Will a 93 231 tcase fit a 92 AW4?

Was the '93 an AW4 also? Are the tranny output spline counts the same?

isn't the 231 for stick and auto the same on the spline count? which year did the spline count change?

I have read that my 1989 AW-4 with 4.0 will have a 21 spline output instead of the 23 spline on the AX-15 manual and the later AW-4's. The same source indicated that the 2.5 has a 21 spline output. Check out Novak. They sell several variations of the T-case input for various sites and their information will help you confirm your swap is Ok. From what was in your post, you are likely ok because I think the transition for the AW-4 was before 1992. Better make sure though.
