Do all the steering boxes interchange across the recent (post CJ) line of Jeeps. If not, what works with what? My 227,000 miles and counting box is crying for mercy

XJ/MJ/WJ/ZJ steering boxes

I posted one of the questions about using a newer style power steering box on my cj project and what I have discovered is that the cj style has a different sized input shaft and the turns ratio is different but the three holes used on XJs line up fine. I believe all of the xj power steering boxes have the same input shaft size and mounting arangement. I have boxes from an 86,91,95,93 XJ and boxes from an 84 cj, 78 wagoneer, and a 99 TJ so I can compare them if you need me to. On my 84 cj8 I am going to use the 99 TJ box since it has very low mileage but I will have to change the steering column shaft.
