Studder at idle

i'v noticed when my 96 4.0.hoaw4 is idling it seems to studder or almost like a series of slight jerks like the engine is misfiring but i'm pretty sure its not, any ideas on what the problem may be?

Check the wires to make sure they are in good shape. In my old set the #1 wire would occasionally arc to the valve cover causing it to not fire. The wire was not cracked or anything, but you could see a grey spot where this was happening. If the wires haven't been changed in a while, might want to do it anyways.

Sometimes you can start up the vehicle at night,in the dark,no lights on and raise the hood.IF there are any bad wires,you'll see them arcing .
I've had a coupla vehicles that did this,looked like a freakin laser lite show....
