View Full Version : It's Now Official! (Meet/Greet Date & Time
ACE
December 1st, 2003, 15:44
Alright, it's final. We officially have a time and place for the M&G.
First, I'd like to thank Jerry for offering up his school in Brigham City. We may use it at another time.
Cutrubus Motors in Layton is where the meet will be. Saturday Dec. 6th. Dave Miller in the Parts department has arranged it through Cutrubus management for us to use their conference room from 2:00-4:00pm. Be there when you can, the earlier the better. This is great having a Jeep dealership allow us to use their facilities.
The conference room is on the South side of the dealership and that is where we should enter when we get there. Parking should be on that south side as well, away from the new cars out front past the gate.
The address is 1234 N. Main, Layton.
Just take the Layton Hills Mall exit and head West to Main St. Turn right (North) and go until you see the dealership on the right side of the road.
I've attached a map.
Hope to see ya'll there!

Right on, I am only 5 hours from SLC... a lot closer than the 8 hours + to Seattle where most of the NW Chapter folks are. Plus, I like Utah!!

Looking forward to meeting some new faces.
Glad to see there is hard core people willing to drive from Idaho.
Maybe we can be introduced to some new wheeling territory.
See you all on Saturday.

Hey, isn't this the used car lot? Who's this guy putting $999.00 on my jeep? What do you mean you don't have valet parking? Who'd I give my keys to then?:rattle:
I'll be there..I won't be awake, but I'll be there. I'll be driving a silver Saturn, so try not to spit when I show up..it gets double digit gas mileage. I'd bring the Pig, but the "Keep America Beautiful" people asked me to give 'em a break for a while. It DO have a purty Wilderness bumper and tire carrier, though..
Popeye might be able to swing by for the M&G, before he heads south to visit family. We get off at about 0630 that morning, so, like I said, likely only have one eye open and none too alert, but this is defininitely something we want to see get going.:pig:

Out of staters can join no problem. There is an out-of-state vehicle surcharge though. It's just a $100 fee that you can pay directly to me. :D To be divided equally to all Utah NAXJA members. I think that was in the by-laws.

I already paid my $100 to Jeff in Moab, in cash of course ;) Anyhow, wish I could make the meet and great this weekend but no can do. We do come down to Moab a couple/few times a year though and I could certainly swing some weekend trips in every now and again during the summer (I gotta check out this little Moab place). I know a few of the Utah folks already from the past few Fall Flings.. a good bunch! Look foward to getting in a trip with you all sometime. And sure, maybe even a Idaho trip will have to come together during the summer if there is enough interest. There are some great mining towns up near Sun Valley that are fun to explore. Nothing super hardcore, but the scenery can't be beat!!

Correct me if I am wrong but I think that the newly elected and out of state Governator Arnold recended that part of the by-laws as one of his first official acts in office.
I would like to be able to be present for the meet/greet but so far my weekend plans are still pretty shakey. If I am able to attend I will be in my family car, a 1990 Cherokee with over 190,000 miles and still runing strong.
If I don't make it down I hope that everyone has a great time and I will try double hard to attend the next event.

Dan, Dan, Dan.......have I ever failed to hook you up? There just so happens to be a Maddox Chicken Hut right down the street from Cutrubus Jeep, .....not the big sitdown flash that the Perry restraunt offers, but the same mouth watering fried chicken that folks drive for miles to flop a lip over........

An option, but we've been planning this for a few months and folks are commiteed, there will be plenty of ops for wheeling, as well as helping out with additional charitable events.
The Toys for Tots run is a great cause, taking nothing from it.
Hope to see you all in Layton on Saturday.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought non-members (family too) were invited? This is a meet and greet, we're not actually voting on matters. Just a chance to meet the people who will likely be our BOD in the near future. Dunno about you, but I'd want to meet someone and learn their views, before I stuck 'em with..er, I mean, stuck them in a position of responsiblity. As Xjeeper stated, the Shriner's event by Wild Yoats is a great cause, and we'll likely support them in the future, as we worked with them last month (and kicked their ass) with the Food Bank Donations. We do want as many folks who support a Utah Chapter to come out as possible. Knowledge is power, and Scottie...we need more power!:pig:

Good points.......this meeting is open to all XJers......regardless of your current NAXJA membership status. We need the support of those that want to reap the rewards of what an organized Utah NAXJA Chapter will bring, so come on out and get involved, put faces with names and give input on what you would like to see happen on a local level.
Hope to see you there..............

I think it's a good idea, but you can run the trail no matter what. RME is awesome,(and I am a member) but you can't set stipulations on the trail.

We had a great turn out yesterday. I counted almost 30 people in the conference room. We had what, 12?, NAXJA members present. It was a good productive meeting.
I ran out after the meet'n and snapped pics of rigs scattered around the parking lot. Many I hadn't seen before.... Check em out.
