I was putting a tach on my jeep and had it all in but couldnt find where to get the signal from. i know on cars with regular coils you just put it on the little post, but where do i put it on mine? its an 86 4 banger. anything would help.

You can get the tach signal from the low tension side of the coil. If there's no post, you'll need to splice into the low tension wire going to the coil.

Instructions with my Sun Super Tach said connect to the - (negative) terminal at the coil. I was replacing another tach so the wire was there and I never looked to see which terminal that is, but they should be marked. If all else fails, Jeep was generally consistent in using black for grounds, so look for a black wire.
