ok on saturday i was going over to jeep dealier to get new cps. on the way there the cherokee stalled when i was tring to leave from a stop. it started right back up and the idel junped up to 3000 rpms for about 20 sec. than started to drop. when i went to go it did the same thing about 4 times then it finaly went for me hasent done it sence. could this be a bad tps? installed new 5 deg. advanced cps and runs great. oh and it tried to do it again after i put in new cps.

Could be the TPS or it could be crud inside the throttle body. Try adjusting the TPS first. Procedure is in the FSM if you have one.

ill have to try to adjust the tps. the TB was just cleaned.

Cleaning the throttle body could have dislodged some specs of crud and gotten them stuck in an internal passege. Get a couple of bottles of fuel system/injector cleaner and dump them into your gas tank.
