Any real difference...

between a Radio Shack CB and a name brand one like Cobra? My last comparison seemed to tell me that they were pretty much equal and the the most important part of the system was the antenna and how it was tuned.

I would have to say Radio Shack would be a name brand when it comes to CB's and certainly is as good as any Cobra. I have one that has not been touched for over 30 years and still works fine. The only thing I have done with it is resoder the mic cable a couple of times.

Antenna's are important and the cable to the antenna needs to be good. Unidin (sp) is supposed to be one of the best CB's so I hear.

late model Cobra's are in fact Uniden's, i think Uniden is the best allround CB.
