The 44 is still stronger right? Question is I might be running a 86 waggy 44 in the front which is LP I belive. I thought about doin the Warn Hubs and shafts to the D30 and some 760 joints, but thats a ton af $$$ it seems to put in the Dana 30 witch will be turnin 36 TSL's. What ya think?

I'm on the same boat. I currently have a HP 30 and a Waggy front D44. The D44 will need a major rebuild & funds.
The 44 will require alot more down time and fabrication, so I'll be running the D30 w/36's TSL till it breaks with some 297/760 joints shafts.

Strength is the least of the advantages of the 44.

hey dazz, why does your xj have round headlights? 
the 44 is the only way to go. my friend uses a chevy LP 44 front with a detroit on 39.5's and he hasnt had any problems with it.
