Chapter Leadership/BOD organization

OK, will it be 3 or 5 members on the chapter BOD?

What about chapter offices such as Prez, VP etc. are they from the chapter BOD or are they in addition to the chapter BOD?

lets nail this down then we can start nominations, then vote!

We have a lot of experience among us, some have been with NAXJA from the start, many have been wheeling for years, some have stepped up to get the ball rolling on this chapter thing. Everyone is busy. :)

The Pres., Vice Pres, etc. make up the BOD.

Hmmmm.....3 or 5 BOD members? We can start with three and see how it goes. As the chapter grows we can reassess the situation and add two more if needed.

What about a nomination committee to oversee the election process? I've seen this done in other Chapters, Woody, you wanna jump in here and clarify the process?

As for our Chapter Purpose, we can adopt the same as NAXJA, modified slightly to include specific support of local trails and/or honorable causes........... but by definition we will be "wholly seperate from NAXJA legally (via incorporation), that obtains Membership in NAXJA as a Chapter and not individuals".

At what point is the Chapter required to incorporate? Is this a headcount thing or just a natural progression once the initial BOD is elected and in place?

A nomination committee was established for the last national election, and members interested in running for the offices were presented to the membership by the committee.

In forming a new Chapter, I'd say that once you have a solid list of Members, just start a seperate (sticky) thread for each office, with with duties of the office described in the lead post. Members interested in running would have the opportunity to present themselves. I'd allow an amount of time for any non-Members to join NAXJA (and be eligible for the office), maybe 2 weeks :dunno:

Once that has settled out, we can set up a private voting area within your forum. So when y'all are ready to hold elections, that part is seamless.

To my knowledge, none of the other Chapters have incorporated as seperate entities. You would be the pioneers!
