This thread is for fixing up a nice set of bylaws!

should we just tackle this thing one paragraph at a time?

Like Woody said, some of it will have to include some of the decisions we make.

Let's not reinvent the wheel.:) We can talk to the other chapters and see what they've done. Perhaps what we need is already done.

Yes. I have one set of bylaws that have yet to be approved by the national BOD, but should give us a starting point. I will post when I get home.

Just an update.........
We (Joe, Tom R, myself) have reviewed a set of existing NAXJA Chapter bylaws and modified them for the pending Utah Chapter, but we may still need to tweak them some. This in no way means that we are assuming leadership positions, we've just been involved with NAXJA since it's inception and want to see this chapter get off the ground.

We all need to start thinking about an election process and also a "Meet N Greet" so that we can get together and put faces with names prior to elections being held........kind of a "Meet your fellow Utah Chapter Members and potential BOD Members" meeting.

Joe will be sending out a heads up email and probably post more info here as well so stay tuned and figure out when your schedule will permit such a meeting.

Also, as you see XJers in your travels, don't hesitate to talk to them about NAXJA and the local chapter, the more the better!

Agreed, nothing like a face to face to get a feel for what a person's focus really is. Looking at the boards, though, lot of folks work saturdays, and there's the 'it's 2 hours to SLC' matter, as well. Popeye just sent in his 2 year membership, btw, so that'll be another one in the ranks. Hope to see some of you the 18th of November, at the food bank run... Good to know some progress is being made, and ya know..a lil impatience ain't a bad thing!;)
Anyway, off to change out some ujoints, instead of sleeping, so take care...

I'll be at the Utah Food Bank run for sure. Hope to meet more locals then.
