Use this thread to talk about what activities we are going to want to do as a chapter.
Kieth talked about having 2 sponsored runs each year at the last run up American Fork. We can have all of the unofficial trail runs we want to. Attending a cleanup with some local groups would be great. Helping out or sponsoring the Fall Fling is an option, Jeff and Tom have experience in that area....

We have a fairly large XJ contingent it the Davis and Weber Co areas too, not to leave out Box Elder and Cache also. There are some decent trails to explore up in Cache Valley and So Idaho. I'd also like to check out the West Desert.....much of has been lumped into Wilderness status though :(
We should also look a doing a winter run to Little Sahara.......Jeep's are fun in the sand when it's cold and hardpacked. There are a some good trails in the Delta area, and in Cedar City too. I'm sure many areas like 5 Mile Pass can use a cleanup on occcasion, the Utah 4WDA has been doing this annually. It makes sense for our Chapter to be involved with the Utah 4WD Association too. I am a member and there are lots of good folks there and they do good work.

OR more..........there are tons of cleanups in that area. The BLM has a great opinion of the 4WD community out there.

Not too far from Little Sahara is a place called Desert Mountain that can be a lot of fun. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid63/p25c03a5f5fc81fcce844af0b45852b10/fc103429.jpg

It only seems fitting that we have a winter run somewhere. Do any of you like to snow camp as I do, there is a great place up in the Uintas where the road stays open all winter. Any takers?

If I have a week or two notice, (getting leave not easy), I can be there for a run every couple of months, or cleanup trails, what have you. (Muffled voice in Feb: "Well, it's under 3 feet of snow, can't get much cleaner than that.")
That should give me an idea what I still need to get done on the pig, anyway... At this point, I don't really give a damn WHAT I do, as long as I'm using the jeep.

So they TELL me..White rock, for well, rocks. There's the pony express trail, old abandoned mines and stuff, mostly gravel type trailing. A friend of mine has maps, but we've not had the bloody time to DO anything this year, other than the PExpress. Popeye and a friend with an explorer (hey, taking care of fords counts as charity work) have done White rock. A lil damage, but they had fun. We're working 5-7 12 hour shifts a week out here, so, 'fraid I haven't upheld my end of the exploration..
BTW, food is loaded, and I'll be in SLC for the Food Bank run tomorrow morning. Leaving after work, so..I ain't gonna be pretty :P I matched what the guys at work brought in, so around 20 cases of stuff. I just wanna meet some folks, and show our, and I do mean OUR, support for the 4x4 community.

I think that once we got our Utah chapter organized with leaders and memebers meeting each other, maybe it would be a good idea to try to set up a trail ride once a month with different people responsible for different trails. Granted not everybody will be able to go all the time, but at least with scheduled events throughout the year we could individually schedule our personal time to get there. This would be a great opportunity to get together and make new friendships. We got to have trail rides and dutch oven cookouts, what else could be more fun? Jerry
