AC unit converted to Air Compressor?

I've heard of this conversion on later model XJ's with A/C late like 87-89. wondering if anyone has done it and if it works well..... somethign with hooking up solenoid with regulator and using the A/C option next to heat to throught the eletric switch to turn the compressor on...sounds nifty huh?...now to start dreaming....any ideas or info helpful thanks!!!

Yep, it works really well. Use a pressure switch, And wire a switch onto the dash. A writeup exists on one of the cherokee websites. Good luck!
