Doing Disc conv. on the D44 this weekend ?'s

Okay I am going by Billvista's writeup on the ZJ disc on an XJ D44 I have one question. The artical says I need a custom spacer that is:
2.90" OD
2.45" ID
.225" Thick
I can get one made not a problem but I work in a stainless steel shop and we have a lot of pipe that is
2.91" OD
2.49" ID
and as thick as I cut it.
question is how exact does the spacer have to be? Thanks

That'll work fine. I used stainless steel pipe to make the spacer too. I think it was Sch. 80 2-1/2" pipe if I remember correctly.

Or you can just go to the dealer and order retainer plates for a Rubi D44 - part #1-05083678AA. I think mine were $2.50 a piece.

yes those plates cost $3 a pop at the dealer total $6 ! beats having to custom machine stuff.

all you have to do is redrill the retaining plate with the correct bolt pattern

XJ D44 pattern and Rubi D44 patterns are slightly different. On of DCs bright ingenious Ideas
