I've misplaced my manual and have just got the new gearing for the speedometer ('85 2.5l ax-5 np 207). How the heck does it go in? Does it require splitting the xfer case? Oh, ....found the manual and it doesn't have any info either.

Thanks in advance

If its like the NP321 its really easy. I did nine in a white shirt in about 2 minutes. I don't remember the details but you just unscrew something at the t case end of the speedo cable and pull the old one out. Take note of how it comes apart. You have to set the indexing for the gear you are putting in and the position of the old one will help you figure it out for the new one there are 3 or 4 ranges and there’s a little keeper thing that holds it in the right spot. I think if you just pull it apart carefully it will be clear to you.
