XJ Transmissions

How do I identify my trans? I have an 88 XJ 5 speed. I was told it was a Peugot (sp)? I am not to sure though..

The trans thats in it is shot, but I was giving a trans out of a 2wd XJ when I bought this.. How hard is it to convert the 2wd trans into a 4wd? I am capable of rebuilding this, or doing whatever needs to be done, but what exactly do I need to do?

In an 88 the 5-speed behind the 4.0L would be a Peugeot BA10/5, the 2wd will have an output shaft that need to be swapped for the 4wd (shorter) one.
