...sometime after Moab, but before Christmas. I think we've got enough folks interested. I'm sure I could work out some sort of multimedia conference setup so folks across the 'net could join in. Whatcha think, Glenn? Netmeeting or MSN or something? :D

I do think we should include WA, OR, ID, Western MT (for the most part), BC...and I suppose we could include Alaska, but it'd be kinda hard for those folks to make it for events. :D

If you've been thinking of joining NAXJA, go for it! We need you to be a Member to be included. :)

Those going to Moab for Fall Fling, have fun and be safe (if it's possible to do both!), see you when you get back. Can't wait to meet you all then!

Yeah this chapter needs to get up and running. I will be joining NAXJA within the month, and my xj will be running by then hopefully.

Soooo, it's after Moab now but it's not Christmas yet. :D Any feelers on when-where?

Cool :)
If we can though, I'd like to see if something can be pulled together before like mid November. Starting November 23rd I'll be working 7 days a week with little hope of weekend (or any) time off.:( Actually I'll start being tied up November 5th, but I can still do Sundays and afterhours easily.
Yea, it's sucks working retail, the perk is some major O/T = Jeep parts!:D

In following with the rest of the threads in this section, local NAXJA members are talking about meeting up to discuss Chapter formation rather than wheeling at this point. :) It'd probably be a better idea to discuss trail runs in the Un-Official Trail Runs (Informal Events) (http://www.naxja.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=56) forum instead so we can keep focused on Chapter issues here. :)

Ok. I got excited reading meeting other EXjer`s , I belong to 2 jeep clubs and the PNW now so run is what hit first but first things first. Do you have a body count or a place in mind yet ? Informal meet and greet and eat . Any time line for first meeting?

I am in, pretty much whenever. Just give me a couple week advance notice.

On that thought, I'll through out the date of Nov 8th. What ya think?

As far as a location goes, that's just as important. I know there are XJers in Oregon that may be interested, also Spokane, Idaho, Longview, Marysville, the San Juans, plus many in the Seattle/Tacoma area. Seattle would probably suit the majority, however, if having it in Olympia, or Centrailia would bring more participants from the South, then by all means lets have it there.

How about some input on location?

8th would work for me...and I'd be willing to come down to Centralia...

Let's see how many of the OR folks want to, then it'll give us a gauge on whether to have it in Seattle. I would probably be able to swing a phat conference room with data connection (for Netmeeting ro similar) in my Downtown Seattle building (just off I-5) for that purpose. On a weekend, of course. :) I just need a week ahead of time to set things up!

The 8th sounds good to me, I figure with this much notice I'll be able to take that day off.
Centralia sounds good, where might we meet there though? Like a resturant or something more formal? Anyone know of anything in Centralia that could house a meeting?

I don't know anyone there, just kinda putting the idea out. Weather permitting, there is a park just off I-5, and some restaurants in the area, plus a butt-load of factory outlets, so your ladies can shop (Helly-Hanson and K2!!). There is a large casino up the road in by Rochester, that might be an option too.

Let's not forget, we need 7 NAXJA members to make this thing happen. Do we have 7 or more interested offically?

Pretty sure we do. Some of them just don't post on the boards. ;) I've got at least 2 I keep in contact with who will show up. As for the others well heck, they're all in OR and ID at least. Willis and those out of state/area, what were your thoughts on an Internet meeting to include everyone too far away? I know it's easily doable to set up a computer and 'conference' call via the web. We should include those who 'can't make it' because of distance, ya know? What say you, folks? :) I'm game for any time, any place.

Sounds like fun, but unfortunately I won't be able to travel any time soon. My body just can't do it. :)

Have fun, and keep me informed.

The Centralia thing sounds good to me...but I can find my way up to Seattle as well. As far as I know I am free the 8th (have to ask the boss ;) )

Count me in, just let me know the time and place. Someone might want to check if the Ribeye has an available meeting room.

8th is good for me. My attendence will depend on location. (Being in the very top left corner of the state,I don't want more then a 6 hour round trip(driving))
But either way I am defininately in on forming a chapter. whether I am there or not.

Is this meeting your trying to have for members only or are perspective members invited to see what NAXJA is all about ?

Willis

Prospective members absolutely welcome. You, however, can not vote or be counted in the formation of the chapter until you do become an official member.

We don't seem to be getting much for out of state or members from other areas other than Seattle. There are a few, but seems the majority may be in Seattle. The majority of what seems to be the 'opposers' to the forum, are from Seattle. If we hold it in Seattle, we maybe able to get more of those that are already leaning away from the chapter formation to attend the meeting and give their 2 cents. Thats what I'd like to see from this meeting. Let's try to sway more people toward our forum, because we already have those that are considered 'in'.

That said, this meeting is not completely necessary. It can all be done through the web, without net meetings too. But, it's also good to get to know each other better. You get a better idea of personalities. Once this personal meeting is done, we will start a discussion about the bylaws for everyone to participate in. We will establish an agenda to try to follow in order to get this chapter official.

If decided to be in Seattle or Tacoma, anyone have an idea on a meeting place?

Steve,

I think that is a really good idea. There is really something to be said for everyone getting together in person that you just won't get online.

Not able to get a cool conference room in my high-rise. ;) That option is out if anyone was considering it anyhow, lol...
