knocking sound..

So I made it to Ohio and developed a knock sound from the lower back area of the engine. I pulled my oil pan. The rods feel tight with no excessive play. I put a prybar in the crank and didn't feel any excessive end play, everything under the oil pan seemed tight.


I'm thinking I have a broken flexplate but I can't tell without pulling the tranny back which I might do tomorrow. Any ideas???

That was my thought too..... Can you remove the inspection cover and slowly rotate the flexplate and see if you can feel where it's knocking or see a crack maybe?
