I own a 2000 XJ and found a 99XJ for parts. Are the main components the same for like drop in swaps? Engine, exhaust, computers, ect... Thanks in advance.

99 and 2000 XJ

Most of the parts will interchange including the engine long block. Most engine computers are year specific. The 2000-01 have different heads and exhaust manifolds.

AFAIK the exhaust ports and ignition coils are different
90% is swap you old accessories to new block like on any swap.
I think there is an adapter plate to connect the exhaust. Maybe other work arounds too.
Computers are not going to swap, year specific. Won't work unless you essentially gut all the electronics out of the 00 and swap in the 99 computers harnesses and exhaust
