Recently installed a Smittybilt XRC rear bumper on my 2000XJ. It also came with two lower quarter armor shields that pop rivet onto where the old bumper caps were. They both have a big slot cut out of the front in the seam or bend. This just looks like a great way to trap dirt and moisture. Does anyone have a clue why they would purposely add them to the otherwise fine parts? I can take a picture but figured someone else has seen them also.
