So I just wanted to post up this quick and easy project for the masses. I just installed a tow hitch so I had a rear recovery point. And while I was looking decided I needed a place to put the spare tire until I make a bumper some time in the winter months.
So I grabbed some 2x2" 1/4 wall tubing lying around the shop and went to work.
I chose to do an 22.5* angle to save a little departure angle. Cut and mocked
Picked some 1/2" tabs to act as a "hinge" I wanted thick material to stop any side play as it will see lots of stress
Tacked it all up fit in the hitch. So far worked well.drilled it all as one unit. I need to make two stops so it won't go past 90* down and 90* up and into the rear window
