My 89 and 95 4.0 both have a white deposits.

Could the CA gasoline be the factor?

Does this hurt these parts?

Pictures would help.

Color tends to say you are running a bit lean. If it is buildup, it normally comes from something in the fuel/combustion.

First off, is it on all the plugs? If so, it isn't a coolant leak/head gasket.

Are you running any fuel additives?

Synthetic oil?

I get white deposits on 2 plugs on mine where I have loose valve guides that slowly leak oil into the 2 cylinders. I have seen too much gas additive leave white deposits.
