CB install

Well I picked up a minivan console for my 94 and im looking to install a CB in it.
Most cb installs ive seen cut out the sunglass holder.
I don't care about the computer function since i have a gentex 177 mirror and it covers the only functions that i would be able to make functioning.
Has anyone susesfully installed a CB where the old computer went.
Would it be possible to mount a remote headunit CB in this location?

Wiring is not a problem but iv'e never messed with internal radio wiring before.

I've never seen a CB small enough to fit in the front area. I plan to just run a microphone wire up the A-pillar and put the clip on the forward plate. There is this approach though--link

I mounted mine in the overhead --- its a tiny cobra unit I think. I'll take pictures if you're interested.
