I am going to swap in a Ford 8.8 into my 94 xj. I don't have abs but the 99 explorer donor vehicle does, will this matter?

No, I have an Exploder 8.8 in my MJ and I just left the sensor in place. That is what most do. Some make a small plate to fit.
Make you get the flange adapter piece, or buy a 1310 yoke for it.

Yours had disk brakes? Did you have to swap in a different proprtioning valve?

Yes, all 2nd gen Exploder and up have disc brakes.
Brakes are better than they ever were since I have owned my MJ. SO, I haven't changed anything.
Some people swap in the rear disc F8.8 as is without other mods and run it, some swap ZJ prop valve, some run no valve, and some run adjustable.
I would run it as is when you install it, and see if you decide to change it.

I just left the sensor on mine, made longer perches and used bolts instead of u-bolts. Theyoke you need can be found on ford rangers. So if you have a pick and pull this could be a cheap option for you.Here is a picture of mine before installing it.
