89 4L auto has a strange issue when the defrost is on hot or high outside temps with sun on the dash. When and if either of the above are present the volt gauge will drop into the red and I know that it is not charging since I have checked it under these conditions. But if I pull back on the defrost duct w/ my right hand it will correct the problem and show a normal charge rate for a while or all day. So I am thinking that there has to be a ground that is making intermittent connection when heat is involved, but I have had this part of the dash apart an cannot find a connection that may be involved. Any thoughts or help will be appreciated. Also I have all of the FSM's and they have been no help.
