Flow master/magnaflow. A post not about sound

Trying to get a better understanding of how the inner baffle system works in a muffler and how it affects the flow and such.
Now I have both a magnaflow that's built similar like this, just without the little flap thing

And I have a flow master that's built similar like this

What does the two do in effect to exhuast flow and such? Is one better than the other?
I've tried here and pirate and neither really gets into the baffle stuff.

There is more marketing than substance in those things.

Stop and think about this one for a couple of minutes:

Low Pressure Balance Chamber blocks power-robbing atmospheric pressure from entering the system
Just how much atmospheric pressure do you think is going to be coming up your tailpipe? With any muffler? Or lack thereof?

Read all of that stuff with a grain, or pound, of salt.

Your best bet is to look at comparative dyno tests and sound tests. My preference is for as large of a chamber as will fit under the vehicle with a straight perforated tube and glass wool packing. YMMV.
