Noise In Left Front

OK, this is driving me crazy.

I had the front brakes done about 2 years/15,000 miles ago.

On the way home, I noticed this sound. It was intermittent, and the best description I can give of it is like a tool fell down somewhere, and is rattling around.

It comes and goes. Sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's not there at all.

Sometimes it happens on bumpy roads, sometimes it doesn't.

Sometimes it happens when I first hit the brakes, sometimes it doesn't.

The brakes work perfectly.

I've gotten under there and looke many times ... nothing.

I've had the guys at Firestone check several times .... nothing.

Anyone have any ideas?

Do you still have the backing plates? Are they bent? Sometimes stuff gets caught. That's why I remove them.

I'll check it again, but I've been through that area a lot shaking, tightening, etc. looking for death wobble causes.

It has a Kevin's Offroad Track Bar.

Yeh a quick push upwards will rule that out.

Loose upper shock mount ? Kinda of sounds like brake pads without the springy clips on the back of the pad, done that before. Ball joint maybe, been awhile since I did some but if I remember right the lower has up and down movement but the upper joint shouldn't move. Mine rattled on rougher roads.

It's really strange. Sometimes, I'll be driving down a totally smooth road, and it'll be rattling away.

Other times, I'll be going over bumps that's rattle your teeth ot, and nothing.
