I have a 90 xj limited and it has a stutter in acceleration around 1800 rpms and is worst when its cold. I can feel when cruising down the road. New cap and rotor, neon injectors. I did just put a new motor in but felt the stutter on the old motor. Exhaust is shot with its own sweet rattle. Any help?

If you're using the same TPS, I'd check it. A rough spot
in the reostat could cause those symptoms.

If not the TPS, could be fuel related, either the pump or
filter. A fuel pressure test would be the next step...

I had one of those, it turned out to be the O2 sensor. Only happened after the motor warmed up a little, wouldn't do it cold.

Do Cruiser54's check/adjust on the TPS. If that all checks out and you have $100 to shotgun parts, I'd go with a new o2 sensor, new FPR, new fuel filter. Even if those don't fix it you might gain a MPG or two.

I've been recently chasing an erratic idle on my renix which greatly improved with a new FPR (had already put in a new cap/rotor/coil/703 injectors)
