Ive got a slight sound coming from my 91 XJ as I drive. Its not constant, but increases as speed increases. Its almost sounds line when you turn while parked....you know? Like a rubber on asphalt/grinding sound except it happens over 20mph but seems to maybe go away when braking coming to a stop. It sounds like a lop-sided type noise.
I did the "12 and 6" and the "3 and 9" tests while it was on stands and there was no movement what so ever with the wheel.
Does that mean its probably not the hub assembly OR the ball joints?
The wheel also seems to spin normally when in the air and there isnt any noise like when driving.
Does that mean its probably the caliper or rotor? Like the caliper may be slightly sticking or the rotor is maybe bent?
I dont have any smoking or burning smell at all, just the noise.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
