Will a steering column cover from a 97 or newer xj fit a 95? Or possibly from a zj?

A 96 will
I just replaced mine on my 96 Cherokee. Broke the plastic interlocking tabs while changing the ignition lock cylinder. I'm convinced the part was designed for easy assembly in a factory and not for disassembly when repairs are needed. A new OEM part is not that expensive online and is probably worth it if you factor in the time you'll spend trying to find a used part that isn't broken.
