Will a NP231 from a YJ fit my 94 XJ Sport

Well, I know that the 2.5/ax-5 is 21-spline. The later model 94/95 (I think, 95 for sure not sure about 94. I know that early YJ had 4.2L) YJ with 4.0 had an ax-15. Which would be 23-spline.

I believe the wrangler transfer cases are clocked differently, but I don't know about the YJ

YJ ax15's have a differant rear half of the case than XJ ax15's to account for that differance in clocking... for example.

It looked like an exact replacement. Just wanted to be sure before I grabbed it. But I found a transmission, torque converter, np231, front and rear driveshafts for $300. Can't pass that up.

there are input shaft depth differences too, the depth that the splines are cut on the input are shorter on the wranglers i believe.

Well I just picked up an NP231 off a 92 Comanche. So I'm good. Thanks for the input guys.
