Hi all,

Installing a trans temp gauge and need a 12V Ignition Source to run it. For a 2000, is there a good ignition-controlled 12V source that you recommend in the vicinity of the center console?

Also, very basic question... how would I use a multimeter to check for 12V? Drive a pin into the wire and touch the other pin to a ground?

There is a spare 12v source on the fuse panel usually. That is what I am using to run mine. You could also make use of an add-a-fuse from some fuse on the panel like the radio. I used the spare 12v for the gauge and and add-a-fuse on the dash light fuse for the gauge light. Doing that allows me to dim the light in the gauge just like the dash lights if I want to.
