aurora backup lights

Fiberglass hatch
Power door locks
Has anyone added the olds Aurora backup lights? Is there room for the hatch power lock behind the left light? Do I have to remove the power switch? I would like to keep the power lock function? I guess I should have investigated further before I started cutting.

Don't the people that use the Aurora lights just mount them to the hatch, not in it?
