Temp sensor relocation question...

99 xj sport.

I am swapping my 99 motor out for a rebuilt 96. On the 96 the engine had 2 temp sensors, one on the back driver side of the head and one on the thermostat elbow. The 99 only has one, can I just plug the sensor on the 96 head hole with a bolt that fits and some plumbers tape?

Yes, but you want a pipe plug not a bolt (different threads).

X2 just use a 1/8 pipe thread plug.
