Gauges maxed after removing cluster

I pulled the cluster out of my 90 MJ to try and fix the oil pressure gauge that was maxed out over 80 and not reading.

After I put the cluster back in, the fuel gauge and temp gauge were maxed out. Pulled the cluster back out, cleaned and lightly sanded all the contacts, reinstalled, didn't help. Screwed with it for hours, the fuel gauge magically started working again, then it went back to maxed out. And the temp gauge reads nothing now. It'll stay wherever you put the needle (removed clear plastic).

Whats going on here? Oil pressure I'm assuming is the sender, but WTF happened with my fuel and temp gauges? They DID work just fine...

you cleaned the contacts, but did you bend them back out?

get a dental pick, slightly bend the contacts out so they'll keep tension against the connector.
don't get crazy because you'll break them off.
