Multiple Cylinder Misfire

Found a jeep on Craigslist.

99 XJ/4.0/AW4

200k miles.

It has a really bad misfire. Pulled 9 engine codes. 2 or 3 related to 02 sensors and the rest are multiple cylinder misfire, cylinder 5, cylinder 4, etc misfire. I've never seen a 4.0 idle as rough as this one.

Do you guys follow my logic?

- Check for crossed plug wires then replace; Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and the coil.

Going to do a compression test as well before I purchase it.

How sure are you that you want to purchase it?
If you already replaced plugs, wires, cap & rotor + coil... it's now looking more expensive by the moment.

could be a deal if you're willing to work on it. Misfires could be lots of things, especially with 200k on the ticker

Sounds like there is a problem in the spark plug wires being switched. The firing order is cast into the intake manifold.
