Rubberized bed liner

Anyone have a solution on how I can remove bed liner from the roof of my XJ. PO thought it was a brilliant idea to paint the roof black in Arizona so I need a way to remove it short of using a grinder & flap wheel.
any suggestions ?

Yikes, you could try a heat gun and pealing but I think that's bedliner brand dependent.
You can call around to some body shops. If they have one of these heat tools they can do it.

If not I'd use a wire cup on an angle grinder.

I bought an xj that had like 10 tubes of silicone on the roof trying to seal the sunroof (didn't work). So I kinda know your pain.

........ is this a bad idea?
I was considering doing the herculiner top on my (already black) roof because I routinely throw my saltwater covered kayak on top. I figured this was an ok solution. People herculiner their rocker panels and stuff all the time......

.....nah....the rest of my jeep is black. Kinda wanna keep it that way.
Hmmmmm ..... all white would be cool too though. ...
