So I purchased a new transmission mount from Oreily's and it has an angle to it where the crossmember bolts up to it. Is it supposed to have this angle and if it is which way is the angle supposed to be?
Look at your engine -- you will see the front is higher than the rear -- the whole drivetrain is angled to reduce the angle of the driveshaft where it meets the rear differential.
There are two mounts, one with centered bolts (NP231) and one with offset bolts (NP242). Yes it should have that angle. I assume the taller part should be towards the engine, at least that is how I always install them.
The NP231 mount is on the left, the NP242 mount is on the right.
