Relay Identification Help Please

Does anyone know what this relay is for. It was mounted under the dash on the right side of the steering column. I think the yellow wire goes to the 4wd switch but I'm not 100% sure.

i believe that's the rear window defroster relay.

Don't have a clue on an 88. But your project pics looks like the Space Shuttle being overhauled. Hope you end up with the most awesome rig in the Sierra!
