Am not here on this site all the time, nor am able to solve all issues. However, I am here now, for anything I can learn about my rig.., and to give you some tips.
First; be sure to indicate your year, model, engine, drive train, and perhaps whether it is a project, a daily driver, (DD), or a little of both.
Second; I am a computer techno-peasant, and had to figure out how to add all of that stuff you often see at the bottom of fellow member's posts which explain things like the aforementioned, (above), which makes it quick for readers to ascertain the platform foundation of which your problem rests.
Third; had to ask how to do certain functions on this web site, i.e., such as: How to up load images.
(I am limited to direct repair experiences) However, there are experts on this site that know the XJ inside, and out, but for others who do not, and have also experienced your problem.., they are also good to chime in and offer great advice. The bottom line is that you must provide more details in order to avoid answers that are just close, or speculative, but those that are spot on. Also it is good to have hard copy manuals such as your year's Factury Service Manual, (FSM), and the generic ones obtained in automotive parts stores. (Also, I often forget my direct repair experiences, lol).
Fourth; the search engine of this site is weird.., so one can 'google' a short tech question, and see what happens, i.e., from many Jeep/Cherokee sites. I usually look for NAJA responses as there seem to be a majority of experts at this site, (for the DD's), than many of the others. So much so, that I paid to become a member here, rather than at the others. Your support would be appreciated, but sometimes derided by others who want a free lunch. Damned Democrats, socialists, neo-commies, etc. Ball is in your court.:soapbox:
