'99 XJ poly gas tank orientation for custom application (FC170 build)

Hey guys. I'm working on a custom "Patina Rod" project - a 1961 Jeep FC170 body that will be mounted on a narrow F350 Cab & Chassis frame. The driveline donor is a low-mileage '99 Cherokee 4.0L/AW4/NP-231. I own the donor vehicle, which was t-boned. I'd like to use the XJ poly gas tank, but it's too wide to mount between the cab & chassis frame rails, which are only 34.1" outside-to-outside. I could mount it completely underneath the frame rails, but it would hang down ~12"...too low.

Would there be issues mounting the poly tank 90 degrees from the normal orientation, where the tank would be turned sideways inside the frame rails?

Thanks,
Craig

Here's the start of the project.

Since the fuel pump is on the top anyways, do not think it matters if it is mounted differently. Even if it was on the side, would not be too much of a bother. Place it how it will fit and move along.

I can't wait to see this thing done! I'm pretty sure mounting it that way will work fine.
