The day I bought my XJ ('95, 4.0, AX-15, 300,000+miles), I was doing 65 in 5th gear and engine died, as well as radio and speedometers/guages... lights stayed on.. turn.ed key from "run" back one click then back to "run", all came back ... is very random ... has happened dozen times or so over the past year and a half... always comes back with just turning key back one. lock and then back to "run".... ignition switch?
