Running fog lights with factory switch only

Newb here with a question. Mods please move if I'm in the wrong section

I'd like to be able to turn my fog lights on whenever I want on my 97 sport. Is there an easy way to use the factory switch but disconnect it from the headlight circuit?

The plan is to use them as my day time running lights. I've done the headlight harness and h4 upgrade and I'm trying to avoid using my headlights as running lights

You can modify the factory switch wiring and make your own harness for the lights, or you can bypass the relay in the PDC (underhood fuse/relay box), and retain the stock wiring.

Thanks hubs. Looks like I'll need to make a harness. Hoping to be able to run the fogs with the headlights off

That's what I did. Not a big fan of how the factory fog circuit is wired to begin with, and it's a pretty easy circuit to wire up.
