Can anyone tell me what this bolt is on the bottom of a 231 transfer case. It's slightly leaking.

that's the detent spring and pin retaining cap. there's an o-ring you can replace or slick some RTV on it and call it good.

If u take it out, its going to leak all the fluid out so be ready for that, also there is a spring and a little bullet thing on the end of the spring, keep track of those as they will come out also.
