propylene glycol

I was hoping for an answer to this question as well, the last time I flushed my coolant I just about put this in (the Sierra brand.) It seems it isn't very popular, probably because of the price, but I like the environmental benefits. I've also heard it has lower silicon, which might save your bearings if you blew a head gasket suddenly. I don't know about that last sentence for sure though.

We do both auto & marine at the shop, so we use a lot of Sierra brand. No problems with it.

However, too costly to use in non-marine applications. We purchase standard green pre-mix in drums.
