ford 8.8 swap emergency brake cable replacement?

last kid who had my jeep did a good 8.8 swap other than he just cut the e brake cable down near the mounting area around the caliper does anyone know if a replacement for the original explorer axle will do me any good or are there any aftermarket setups or anything?? thanks in advanced for the help guys

I used 2 long side cables. Criss crossed them above the axle and zip tied to body crossmember that shocks bolt to. Pulled ebrake handle out of console and extended threaded rod 3-4". Simple cheap and easy. YMMV
