high irregular idle

Hello,
1992 xj 4.0 5 speed
Had some issues awhile back, jeep wouldnt start. Replaced the crankshaft position sensor and it started.

It runs for awhile good, then just starts to idle faster and faster. Any suggestions on what to check next?

I almost think computer with how it acts, acts like it doesnt understand what the motor is doing. What can i check to eliminate distributor computer etc?

Look for an intake manifold gasket leak or loose intake-exhaust manifold bolts.

Might also be a bad air or coolant temperature sensor.

Do this first.

Both times mine did that, it needed a new Throttle Position Sensor. Now on my third at 330, 000 km/ 220,000 miles.
